Hailing from Bulgaria, Svet has been on the music tip since before he could speak English. Co-creator and sole promoter of Woodstock 1969, Artie Kornfeld was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1942. The man who would later be deemed “The Father of Woodstock” would go on to become one of the most respected composers, publishers, producers, managers, and promoters in the history of rock and roll.

Kornfeld is the son of a New York City policeman and his wife (Irving & Shirley). Brought up in the early 50s in Levittown, New York, Kornfeld’s family constantly moved and he attended six different schools, learning the lessons of the world through the song lyrics played over the radio. Artie Kornfeld would soon live his American dream and become the guiding force to what is now known as “The Woodstock Generation”.

Kornfeld got his first guitar in 1956 and learned a few chords that were pretty much universal at the time. He soon found himself with a record deal and on stage with Dion and the Belmonts with The Skyliners singing backup. Kornfeld would further his music career by attending Adelphi College and American University where he met Cass Elliot of the Mamas and the Papas.

After a few more fortuitous music connections, Kornfeld began his enterprise of writing the most Cashbox top 100 of any song writer. Kornfeld became the vice president of Capitol Records in his early 20s, making him the youngest to hold the position and the first vice president of rock and roll ever. By 1966, Kornfeld had written over 75 Billboard charted songs and participated in over 150 albums. In 1969, Kornfeld left Capitol records to co-create The Woodstock Music & Arts Festival.

Woodstock

After he moved to Woodstock, NY and met Artie Kornfeld in New York, the two developed the concept for a major festival event to celebrate the ’60s social movements, and planned to open a recording studio in the town of Woodstock. With Kornfeld and partners John P. Roberts and Joel Rosenman, Lang set into motion the Woodstock festival, which was held on Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York, from August 15 to August 18, 1969.

Michael Lang was featured in many scenes of the 1970 Academy Award winning documentary film Woodstock : 3 Days of Peace & Music. Lang also produced Woodstock 94 with partners Roberts, Rosenman and co-producer John Scher, and Woodstock 99 With John Scher and Ossie Kilkenny.

Her name is Jefandi Cato. You are probably saying to yourself…’what kind of name is that? Well, I am glad that you asked! Her name is a combination of both her mother and father’s name. Her dad, (Jef)fery and mom, S(andi). Tight right?  As a child she appeared on such things as ‘I’ll Fly Away’ and Vison 20/20 Billboard. Some of her current work includes, plays intitled ‘Speak to me Lord’ and Lettin’ Love Happen’, and shows such as VH1′s hit reality show, Flavor of Love. With that said, she is a young, passionate, and determined indivdual just looking for the ‘love’ in this hard knock industry. Wherever there is love, there is peace.

Being a fresh face to Las Vegas, Jefandi has graced Los Angeles with her southern charm and looking to do the same here!  You may recognize her from singing in Jimmy Kimmel’s “I’m F*****g Ben Affleck”, as ‘Georgia’ from VH1′s Flavor of Love, or as Michelle Obama from Comedy Central’s Workaholics and youtube hit Baracka Flacka Flames!  Jefandi is most proud of hosting ‘No Laugh Track Required’ military tour.  She has performed her comedy in Diego Garcia, Portugal, Greece, and Italy!  Currently, you can catch her hosting every Thursday at 9 for L.A. Comedy in Cabo Wabo of Planet Hollywood here in Vegas!  Jefandi’s next intermediate goal is to take her Therapeutic Recreation degree from Clemson University and combine it with comedy to perform for the Veteran’s Hospital in Pahrump. 

When asked why the entertainment industry, Ms. Cato states that “she loves to bring a smile to a person’s face.  Help them forget the troubles of their world, even if its only for a slight second.”   Jefandi is determined to have her own sitcom!  Whether hosting shows, impersonating the First Lady, or starring in all-so-trendy reality shows, this ambitious actress, comedian, and singer is definitely making her mark.

Leah Seawright hails from Fort Payne, Alabama hometown of the supergroup Alabama.  She’s been immersed in music since birth.  “I guess I was predestined to do this,” she says.  “My mom and my dad are both musicians and singers.  As far back as I can remember, we’d have people over on the weekends to make music.  Mom would sing and Dad would play the guitar.” Looking back down the road she’s traveled to reach this point in her career, Seawright observes, “It’s just been a roller coaster.  But I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I’ve always been a glass-half-full kind of gal.”  Well, whatever her glass is half full of, you can be sure it’s high octane.  Leah’s new single “Til Your Boots Are Dirty” was produced by Jeremy Stover, the man behind Justin Moore’s hits, and was written by Danny Wells, Richard Donahue and Billy Croft.  Wells is a BMI award-winner whose hits include George Strait’s “Check Yes Or No” and Rascal Flatts’ “These Days.”  Leah and Stover are currently in the studio completing her new album, which is set to be released this spring.

The song takes an honest look at where we are as a nation and what we (as US citizens – not the politicians) need do to get the country back on track. By the time Mitzi Matlock, Nelson’s publisher, got the demo of Looking for America to Mark Wills, the song had already tested most favorably with different demographic groups all around the nation. Matlock says, “I was knocked out by the power of the song’s sincerity…I’d never heard these simple, honest sentiments expressed like this before. I didn’t have a choice – I had to find the right artist for this song and get it out to the public’.

Eventually Matlock decided her company, Mitzi Matlock Music/MM Publishing, would release the song – she then went straight to master producer Phil O’Donnell to produce the track. O’Donnell called his good buddy Dan Frizell at Legends Studio, to put together a band that included some of Nashville’s top session players.
